A new ATMP workforce development initiative
The Challenge
To remain an attractive location for clinical trials, retain talent, and scale domestic competence, the Swedish life science ecosystem must respond to increasing global competition and the rapid development of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). Without targeted workforce development, both healthcare providers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) risk facing critical skills shortages in gene and cell therapy, manufacturing, and implementation.
The Solution
Backed by SEK 26.7 million in funding, this cross-sectoral ATMP workforce development initiative addresses the growing demand for specialised skills in both healthcare and industry. The initiative is built on a joint work plan and structured around two complementary projects that together strengthen Sweden’s long-term capacity in advanced therapies.
The initiative is based on a joint work plan - two complementary projects form the foundation of the effort
