The corona crisis does not only mean layoffs and unemployment. In the midst of the pandemic, MYoroface, part of Sahlgrenska Science Park’s community, has set its sales record several times and is now recruiting.

Innovation and knowledge in conjunction with good entrepreneurship is tributed when Sahlgrenska Science Park, for the fourth consecutive year, is awarding a prize in Nobel laureate Arvid Carlsson’s honour.

Unexpected meetings often lead to unconventional innovations. That could also be a way to describe Chalmers’ Areas of Advance aiming to facilitate these interactions. The newest Area of Advance, Health Engineering, was formally inaugurated in January this year. A timely and well-placed initiative in a region that is establishing itself as a hotspot for sector convergence within Life Science. Sahlgrenska Science Park’s board member Ann-Sofie Cans is the director of Health Engineering.

When eleven and twelve year old children are challenged to improve health through IT-solutions, there is no limit of the creativity.

Sahlgrenska Science Park has partnered up with EIT Health Brigdehead Europe, an EU organisation running a programme to help promising startup companies in health that need assistance with internationalisation.

Millions of Swedes suffer from IBS, irritable bowel syndrome. To ease the pressure on healthcare during the corona crisis, Tummy Lab, a part of Sahlgrenska Science Park’s community, gives free access to their digital IBS-school.

“The Swedish healthcare system is facing a great challenge, we want to do what we can to help”, says Anders Elfving, CEO at Tummy Lab.
