Sweden’s population is getting older and healthtech is gaining increasing importance in healthcare. “Technology is an enabler for sustainable healthcare,” says Ulrika Kjellberg, CEO of Appva, the company that has developed an AI robot based on stated needs.

AstraZeneca’s BioVentureHub is planning to double in size. That’s according to Matti Ahlqvist, Site Director for AstraZeneca’s R&D facility in Mölndal, in LIFe-time’s special edition focused on Sweden’s competitiveness in life science. The BioVentureHub is one of several major investments in West Sweden that are attracting attention.

“The customer should be as satisfied with a research product as with a laptop or phone,” says CELLINK’s CEO, Erik Gatenholm, who is one of the speakers at TEDx Gothenburg with the theme ‘disrupting status quo’.

Large parts of the Swedish life science industry join forces to deliver an appeal with sharp proposals to the Swedish government. The message is that there is no longer time to wait if Sweden is to stand up in increasing international competition. The goal is double export until 2030.
