Videm, one of Sahlgrenska Science Park’s startup companies, has for the second year in a row been selected for Ny Teknik’s prestigious 33-list, which recognises Sweden’s most promising young tech companies. The company is developing an innovative solution that enables fast and accurate diagnostics close to the patient – a technology with strong potential to strengthen the healthcare system of the future.
– We are very proud of Videm’s achievements. Being recognised on the 33-list for the second year in a row demonstrates both the strength of their technology and the dedication of the entrepreneurial team, says Emma Hallenberg Director CO-AX Accelerator by Sahlgrenska Science Park.
Each year, the 33-list showcases 33 Swedish startups with high levels of innovation, technological strength, and international growth potential. For Videm, this year’s recognition is an important acknowledgement of the company’s progress within Sahlgrenska Science Park’s innovation ecosystem, in co-incubation together with GU Ventures.
Faster access to the right diagnosis
Videm’s portable diagnostic instrument makes it possible to analyse biomarkers directly during the patient encounter, without the need to send samples to central laboratories. The solution is based on a patented acoustic biosensor that enables rapid, cost-effective and reliable detection of various disease conditions.
The company plans an initial launch within research applications, followed by expansion into point-of-care diagnostics.
Growing within Sahlgrenska Science Park’s innovation ecosystem
Originating from Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship, Videm has continued its development within Sahlgrenska Science Park’s innovation and growth environment, in close collaboration with GU Ventures.
– Videm is a strong example of how collaboration between academia, healthcare and industry can create real value for patients and society, says Emma Hallenberg.
