Safeguard your medtech invention with patent, trademark and design protection
In this seminar Linus Byström and Erik Krahbichler will share their “dos and don’ts” when it comes to medtech inventions. Which part of my medtech invention can and should I protect? When and how should I do it, in order to secure its value in the most appropriate way?
The presentation will focus on practical aspects – how to prioritize and what to avoid. Medical methods for treatment of humans or animals, whether they are therapeutic, surgical or diagnostic are not patentable in themselves. You will however learn how to protect products, devices used in connection with such methods and how to relate to the restrictions within this very specific field. What steps are required to establish a “method”? What can be protected?
The presenters are experienced patent attorneys from KIPA, an IP firm specialized on intellectual property advice to the medical device industry. KIPA’s main clients are within the field of medical technology and healthcare and they have experience both from startups and established industry. The workshop includes a Q&A session, where you will be able to ask questions regarding your particular project, or even take a first step towards creating an appropriate IP strategy for your potential startup. A light lunch will be served to those who have registered before 13:00 PM on June 5. Email your registration to: email@example.com. Write “Seminar June 9″ in the subject.
